I’ve compiled a list of resources and communities that I’ve used to learn and gain inspiration during my homelabbing projects. This list will also include links to useful software and other systems that I use on a regular basis.
Communities
| Link | Description |
|---|---|
| /r/sysadmin | I use this to keep up to date on current happenings and outages, also to learn how to deal with different systems and how other sysadmins deal with particular issues. |
| /r/talesfromtechsupport | Because we all need to laugh through the pain sometimes. |
| /r/selfhosted | You can probably tell that I spend a good amount of time here. Used a lot for finding different systems to play with and also see how others are setting their networks and systems up. |
| /r/homelab | Fun to stare at all the pretty pictures of network rooms and to gain inspiration on different projects. |
| /r/homelabsales | Sometimes… juuuust sometimes, you can find some really good deals on network and server equipment. |

| selfh.st | A regularly updated site on all things selfhosting. Great reading material. |
| Professor Messer | Who doesn’t know about Professor Messer at this point? Tried and true for certificate training and education. |
